Head Coach | Darryl Suasua

Darryl has a long association with the Auckland Marist Club including stints coaching both the Premier Men's and Women's teams.

As a professional rugby coach, Darryl coached the New Zealand "Black Ferns" for 7 years including winning the 1998 and 2002 Women's Rugby World Cups as well as the Women's Sevens team for the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens.  

In recent years, Darryl was an assistant coach with the Samoa Men's team and 4 years as the Head Coach of the Counties-Manukau "Mitre10" Cup team.

Darryl was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2018 for his services to rugby.

As an NZ Rugby and World Rugby accredited coach, Darryl brings significant knowledge to coaching talented rugby players.  With an emphasis on player empowerment, there is a collective approach to delivering team success.
